Art meets science in the one-of-a-kind Mineralogy Collectors Cards!
Recognizing the need for accessible, easy-to-understand education about minerals, I spent five years developing this deck of cards. Paintings from nearly a decade of work on minerals, combined with years of research and writing, create a beautiful and informative collectors deck that merges fine art with mineralogy.
Deck Details
- Includes 65 premium cards featuring original watercolor artwork
- Large format 3.5" x 5.75" cards
- Printed on 350 GSM cardstock with matte lamination
- 65-page guidebook with gold foil detail on cover
- Housed in a custom, linen-finished, gold-embossed magnetic flip box
- Front: Each card front features a reproduction of my original, hand-painted, watercolor illustrations of 65 different minerals.
- Back: On the back, one will find rich, meticulously refined scientific and historical data relating to each mineral.
Inspired by antique books as well as modern educational materials like DK Eyewitness books, I sought to put together something that was both aesthetically beautiful, evoking the elegance of the past, and functional, teaching with the most up-to-date information.
Every element—from the artwork, to the motif of the box, to the ribbon chosen for the interior—was custom-designed by me and made especially and only for this deck. The Mineralogy Collectors Cards are designed to be a quality heirloom with timeless design.
The Mineralogy Collectors Cards are intended to be valuable to anyone and everyone. Children may marvel at the pretty crystals and pick out their favorites, slowly recognizing patterns of things (ie, crystal systems, chemical classes.) Collectors and laypeople should be able to learn a good deal about their favorite minerals and gain more familiarity with more technical terms. Geologists, educators, and serious collectors can use these cards as a pocket reference or portable gallery of minerals.
The cards are printed on heavyweight, 350 GSM cardstock and protected in a custom, durable linen-finished and gold embossed magnetic flip box. Each set comes with a 65-page guidebook to further your learning.
