Beyond their beauty as luscious shrubs decorating mountains and river valleys here in the Rockies, they’re also powerfully medicinal. They’re one of those medicinals that you can viscerally *feel* working. The berries offer antioxidant and immune support to the highest degree of any berry. Antioxidants reduce damage from oxidative stress in the body, which come from both environmental pollutants and mental and emotional stress of the modern world- both all too ubiquitous. Antioxidants that are in elderberries include anthocyanins, flavonols, phenolic acids and proanthocyanidins.
