In having such reverence for Earth, I've wondered how we can admire it's beauty while leaving it undisturbed. I think paintings are an incredible way to do just that. That is why I was inspired to create this series of mineral paintings, and share them with the world.
This is an archival giclee print of my original watercolor painting of a grape agate cluster. Originally painted with traditional watercolor materials and techniques, this print excellently reproduces the watercolor magic with its rich tones and quality. It is printed on an archival, acid-free natural paper made of plant cellulose and cotton using premium quality pigment inks. This print won't ever fade or age.
Grape Agate is a mineral that is a relatively new find. Although the trade name is Grape Agate, these are actually Botryoidal Purple Chalcedony. Botryoidal means that round tiny sphere-shaped crystals that have naturally formed together. Think of a cluster of grapes and you can see how grape agate got its name! Chalcedony is not scientifically its own mineral species, but rather a form of Quartz in microcrystalline form. Chalcedony is a cryptocrystalline form of silica, composed of very fine intergrowths of quartz and moganite. Grape agate is a tranquil and gentle stone.
8"x10" prints are sent flat, on a foam core backing board will protective covering. Turnaround is typically 3-5 days.
